Most of Denver lets you park on the street for free, with no permit. Cherry Creek is one of the exceptions. Denver's own GIS layer names 22 residential permit areas across 971 street segments in the whole city, and "Cherry Creek Permit (CC)" is the second largest of them, with 82 designated segments. Only the Stadium Area, at 236, is bigger.
The road surface is the other surprise. Denver DOTI's asset layer gives Cherry Creek an average pavement condition index of 66.0 across 216 scored street segments, the eighth lowest average of all 78 Denver neighbourhoods. Its best-scored segment rates 86, which is the lowest top score of the eighteen Denver neighbourhoods we profiled. Its worst rates 40. The layer publishes no survey date, so read it as a relative picture of the city rather than as this week's condition.
6,465 people live here in 4,552 occupied units, 55.5% of them rented. We supply the tires and fit them where the car is parked, in Cherry Creek and across Denver. The price is on screen before you book, and there is no call-out fee.
Three places a Cherry Creek car is kept
56.7% of homes here sit in buildings of twenty units or more. Another 26.3% are single family attached, the highest attached share of the eighteen neighbourhoods we profiled, and much of that is duplex and rowhouse stock with its own garage. Only 6.9% are detached houses.
So a job here usually happens in one of three places, and each has its own catch.
- A building garage. Workable if the bay is on a single level, with room at one corner of the car and enough headroom for us to get close. A low below-grade level, a stacked platform or a tandem space with a neighbour's car behind yours is not.
- A rowhouse garage. Often exactly as wide as the car and no wider. We need room to take a wheel off and put a jack under the car. If the garage cannot give us that, the apron in front of it or the street can.
- The kerb on a permit block. We did not source Denver's permit rules or permit prices, so we will not guess at them here. If your block is signed for permit parking, tell us at booking and we will agree the space with you before anyone drives over.
Rough streets close to the centre
Denver's newest neighbourhoods have its best streets. Central Park averages 81.4 across 1,265 segments and Gateway - Green Valley Ranch 80.9 across 1,440. Cherry Creek, at 66.0, sits in the same bottom eight as Highland at 65.4. The pattern runs against intuition: in Denver the older inner neighbourhoods have worse pavement than the new-build northeast.
Denver publishes no pothole count by neighbourhood. The neighbourhood field in its 311 data is empty on every row, and the yearly archives stop at 2023. The smallest honest unit is the council district. District 10, which includes Cherry Creek, filed 2,329 street pothole requests over 2019 to 2023, fourth of Denver's eleven districts, and 420 alley pothole requests, second of the eleven.
A pothole strike changes the question from repair to replacement faster than people expect. C.R.S. 42-4-228 lists "any bump, bulge, or knot affecting the tire structure" among the conditions that make a tire unsafe in Colorado, and it lists "a break which exposes a tire body cord or is repaired with a boot or patch" as well. We do not patch either. A bulge in the sidewall shows what to look for, and pothole damage in Denver covers the rest of the city's numbers.
One car, and not always a daily one
15.4% of Cherry Creek households keep no car, 52.7% keep exactly one, 26.8% keep two and 5.1% keep three or more. 50.2% of working residents drive alone, 7.5% walk and 35.0% work at home, against 27.3% across Denver. Those who commute average 26.1 minutes.
A one-car household cannot give up its car for half a day at a shop, and a car that sits for days is the one whose slow leak nobody notices. Colorado will not catch it for you either. The state has no periodic safety inspection for a passenger car. C.R.S. 42-4-203 allows a police spot inspection "upon reasonable cause", and that is all. Nobody measures your tread on a schedule. A slow leak in Denver is the page for the tire that is soft again every few days.
Where we are not the right answer
We supply the tires we fit, so a set bought elsewhere is out. We withdrew that service on 2026-09-20. No alignment, no rotation on its own, no balancing on its own, no brakes and no emergency roadside. If the only place the car can be is a garage level we cannot reach, we will say so at booking.
What it costs
A mobile puncture repair is $145 for the first tire and $50 for each additional tire in the same visit, with no separate call-out fee. Wheel off, tire demounted and inspected from the inside, a plug and patch to the industry method, remount, rebalance, TPMS reset where the car supports it, and the wheel back on. Repair depends on what we find inside. If the tire cannot be repaired safely, we tell you there and you are not charged for the repair.
If the tire has to be replaced, installation is $400 for one visit covering one to four tires, with mounting, balancing and disposal included and the tires priced on the same screen. A seasonal changeover is $350 for a set on its own wheels and $390 for loose tires. Off-season storage will be resold through a local partner at $150 a set per six-month season, but no Denver partner has yet cleared our checks on the building, the rate, the insurance certificate and a seven-day retrieval promise, so it is not on sale here yet: how storage will work.
Questions people ask
- My building garage is two levels down. Tell us the level and the headroom at booking. A single flat level with room at one corner is fine. If the van cannot get close, we will say so before you pay.
- Can you work in front of my rowhouse garage? Usually, if the apron is level and paved and we are not blocking the street or a neighbour.
- Is a nail near the shoulder repairable? Sometimes not: nail in your tire in Denver.
- What does a repair cost in Denver, all in? Tire repair cost in Denver.
- Do I need winter tires to drive to the mountains? On I-70 from 1 September to 31 May, the Traction Law sets a tread depth three times the legal floor: Traction Law tires.
- What about Congress Park? Covered: Congress Park.
- And Washington Park? Covered: Washington Park. So is Capitol Hill.
- What should I do before you arrive? Prepare for mobile tire service.
