How to prepare for a mobile tire visit

What to have ready before a mobile tire technician arrives: space, keys, wheel locks, and access, so the visit goes smoothly the first time.

Your price online in minutes. No callback, no estimate visit.

Start with the tire

What do you need?

How many tires?

On the sidewall, or the sticker in the driver door jamb. Copy it exactly.

No account, no callback. The next screen asks about your car, then shows the price.

A mobile tire visit goes fastest when the technician can get to all four wheels without waiting on you to move things or find a key. Here is what to have ready before your appointment window opens.

Where should the vehicle be parked

Pick a level, paved space with enough room to walk fully around the vehicle and access each wheel, the same kind of surface a technician would use to jack the car safely. Gravel, soft grass, or a steep slope are not safe places to lift a vehicle. If you are at an apartment, office lot, or parking garage, confirm you are allowed to have third-party work done there; some buildings and garages restrict it, and a refused location means we cannot complete the visit.

What to have on hand

  • Your keys, with the vehicle unlocked or accessible. The technician needs to move the vehicle slightly in some cases and will need access to the trunk or spare-tire area.
  • Your wheel lock key, if your wheels have anti-theft lug nuts. Without it, the technician cannot remove the wheel, and the visit cannot proceed on that tire. Check your glovebox, trunk liner, or owner's manual pouch; that is where most manufacturers ship it.
  • A clear line to each wheel. Move bikes, trailers, planters, or anything else blocking a tire.
  • Any pets secured away from the work area for their safety and the technician's.
  • Someone reachable by phone, even if you are not standing outside, in case the technician needs to confirm something once they arrive.

What we ask before the visit, not during it

Your vehicle, tire size, and tire choice (or confirmation you are supplying your own tires) are collected when you request service, not discovered on site. Getting these right ahead of time is what lets us confirm a price before the technician ever leaves for your address; see Find your tire size if you are not sure yours.

What can delay or stop a visit

  • An unsafe or non-level parking surface
  • A locked wheel lock without its key on site
  • A location where the technician cannot legally or safely work (blocked driveway, no-standing zone, restricted garage)
  • Tires or vehicle details that do not match what was confirmed in the request

If a technician arrives and cannot safely or legally complete the job because of one of these, we will tell you rather than force it, and we will work out next steps with you.

What we do not do

We do not move other vehicles, remove structures, or resolve building or HOA access disputes on your behalf. If your location needs special permission, get that sorted before the appointment window.

Questions people ask {#faq}

  • Do I need to be there the whole time? Being reachable is more important than standing outside the entire visit, but you should be available to unlock the vehicle and answer questions.
  • What if I cannot find my wheel lock key? Contact us before the appointment; some vehicles can be worked around, but many cannot, and finding this out on arrival costs you the visit.
  • Can the technician work in the rain or snow? Usually yes, safety permitting; extreme weather may require rescheduling, and we will tell you if that is the case.
  • Do I need to pay before the technician arrives? Your price is confirmed, then a provider is confirmed for your window, then you pay; see the terms and cancellation pages.

Why book this way

  • Your price online in minutes. No callback, no estimate visit, no waiting for someone to get back to you. Typically the quickest way to book this service.
  • One all-in price before any contact. Of the national mobile tire services we read, only Tire Rack publishes an installation price; the others quote after you contact them or reach checkout (read 2026-09-16 and 2026-09-17).
  • One point of contact from your request to the finished job. We work with a local partner and answer for the result.
  • You pay only after the price and your booking are confirmed.
