Start with the tire

What do you need?

How many tires?

No account needed.

Congress Park is the mixed case. 35.0% of its 6,174 occupied units are single family detached, 26.0% sit in buildings of five to nineteen units, 23.9% in buildings of twenty or more and 11.1% in two to four unit buildings. That five to nineteen share is the highest of the eighteen Denver neighbourhoods we profiled: a small apartment block belt dropped in among the houses.

The car pattern matches. 8.6% of households keep no vehicle, 53.1% keep exactly one, 31.0% keep two and 7.3% keep three or more. 51.2% drive alone to work, 33.0% work at home and 5.0% take transit, on a mean commute of 23.0 minutes.

We supply the tires and fit them where the car is parked, here and across Denver. Price up front, no call-out fee.

One car, and a shift that does not wait

More than half the households here own exactly one vehicle; citywide the figure is 43.4%. A one car household cannot lend its car to a shop for a day, and Congress Park has a particular version of that: the hospital campus next door runs on shifts, and a shift is not a thing to be late for because a tire went down.

A booked slot at the address is the answer. The car stays put, and the work happens while you are inside.

The permit zones are at the edges

Congress Park carries no permit designation itself, but three of Denver's 22 permit areas press on its borders: Botanic Gardens (BG) with 26 street segments and the hospital zones HZ with 49 and HW with 42, part of the 971 permit segments citywide.

Inside the neighbourhood the kerb is unrestricted, and about a third of the stock has an alley garage behind it. The apartment blocks are the part to check: a small 1950s block often has a tight rear lot with the cars packed in, and if yours cannot be reached from one side we will ask you to put it at the kerb for the slot.

Late winter is when the tires get hurt

Denver crosses freezing in both directions on roughly 136 days a year, derived from NOAA 1991 to 2020 normals at Denver Central Park: 156.5 days with a low at or below 32 Fahrenheit, against only 21.0 that never rise above it. That is roughly 1.7 times Chicago's count. The city freezes every night and thaws every afternoon, and that is what opens holes in asphalt.

The city's own numbers follow that shape. Street pothole complaints to Denver 311 peak in March, and February through May carries 13,343 of the 28,091 street pothole requests filed over 2019 to 2023, 47.5% of the year in four months. The repair log peaks a month later, in April.

What does not exist is a per neighbourhood count. The neighbourhood field in Denver's 311 data is empty on every row and the archives stop at 2023. Council district 10, which takes in Congress Park, Capitol Hill and Cherry Creek, filed 2,329 street pothole requests across those five years, fourth of eleven. That is as fine as the data honestly goes.

What a hole does that a nail does not

A puncture in the tread is usually repairable. Impact damage often is not. C.R.S. 42-4-228 lists as unsafe any bump, bulge or knot affecting the tire structure, and a break that exposes a tire body cord. We patch neither, and we will not tell you a sidewall bulge is fine because it has not let go yet. Repair or replace shows the line.

What we do not do

We fit the tires we supply, so a set bought elsewhere is out. No alignment, no rotation alone, no balancing alone, no brakes, no emergency roadside. A packed rear lot with no access down one side of the car is the address here we cannot work at as it stands.

The repair price

$145 for a mobile puncture repair on the first tire, firm, with the visit included. Wheel off, tire demounted and inspected from the inside, plug and patch to the industry method, remount, rebalance, TPMS reset where the vehicle supports one, refit. If it cannot be repaired safely there is no repair charge.

Questions people ask

  • I work shifts at the hospital. Can you come while I am on? Yes, if the car is where we can reach it and you say where at booking.
  • Is my street a permit block? Almost certainly not. The permit segments nearby belong to the Botanic Gardens and hospital zones.
  • The tire keeps going down and there is no nail. Valve, bead or wheel, usually: a tire losing air with no nail.
  • It hit a hole on Colfax and now it looks odd. Do not drive on a bulge. Book a look at it.
  • What pressure should it be? The door placard figure, set cold: the tire pressure placard.
  • Does coming to me cost extra? No: mobile tire replacement cost includes the visit.
