Start with the tire

What do you need?

How many tires?

No account needed.

31.6% of Lincoln Park households have no vehicle at all, and 50.5% have exactly one. That leaves 82.1% of the neighbourhood running on one car or none (ACS 2020-2024, CMAP Community Data Snapshot). Citywide the one-car share is 45.2%. The one-car household is who this service exists for. It cannot give the car up for half a day while a shop works through a queue.

We supply tires and fit them where the car is parked, here and across Chicago. The price is online in minutes. No call-out fee, no callback, no estimate visit.

A neighbourhood that drives very little, and still needs the tires

Only 26.2% of working residents drive alone, 26.7% take transit and 34.2% work at home. The average household covers 6,101 vehicle miles a year against 9,081 citywide. Low mileage does not mean healthy tires. It means the car stands outside through the 121.8 days a year Chicago records a freezing low, then gets used hard for the few weeks it is needed. A tire that has not moved in months is the classic slow-leak call, and a tire losing air with no nail sets out the usual causes, most of which are the wheel and the valve rather than the rubber.

Ward 43 is the most permit-zoned ward in the city

Chicago's Parking Permit Zones dataset carries 10,392 block faces in 2,055 numbered zones, 9,889 of them active. Ward 43, which covers most of Lincoln Park, holds 600 active block faces. Ranked across every ward in the dataset, none has more. Ward 44 next door is second with 471.

That is not trivia for us. The sign on the pole is the authority, and a van at the kerb for an hour is visible. Tell us at booking where the car will actually be standing. We need ground that is legal, level and paved, with room to work at one corner. Very little of Lincoln Park fails the level test. The difficulty here is whether the space is yours to give.

Potholes, on the street and in the alley

Lincoln Park generated 8,391 street pothole complaints to 311 over the seven full years 2019 to 2025, and another 1,454 under the separate Alley Pothole Complaint type. The city runs about 1,900 miles of public alleys, which is why 311 gives them their own category.

The two have different seasons. Citywide, street pothole complaints peak in March and February through May carries 50.4% of the year. Alley complaints peak in April, a month later, and stay high through the summer: July alley complaints run at 78% of the April peak, where July street complaints are 52% of March. The alley keeps eating tires after the street has been patched.

Rim damage is not a repair job. Under 625 ILCS 5/12-405 a tire is unsafe if it carries any bulge, knot or separation, or if a cut exposes a ply or cord. Repair or replace covers the line.

Winter, and where the car sleeps

The overnight ban runs on 107 miles of arterial streets from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., 1 December to 1 April, enforced whether or not it has snowed. A separate ban covers another 500 miles once two inches lie, at any hour on any date. A tow costs at least $150, plus a $60 ticket and $25 a day of storage. The city publishes a map of the banned streets and we do not guess which ones they are. If your car overnights on a main street in winter, book a slot that does not need it moved at the wrong hour.

What we do not do

We supply the tires we fit, so tires bought elsewhere are out. No alignment, no rotation alone, no balancing alone, no brakes, and this is a booked visit rather than roadside rescue. A car in a stacked or below-grade garage under a high-rise is often somewhere we cannot work, and we say so before you pay.

Our price: $145

A mobile puncture repair on one tire is $145 with us. That is the price, not an estimate and not a starting figure. It covers the call-out, taking the wheel off, demounting and inspecting the tire from the inside, a plug and patch fitted the way the tire industry requires, remounting, rebalancing, a TPMS reset where the vehicle supports it, and refitting. If the damage turns out not to be repairable, we tell you on the spot and you are not charged for the repair.

The only national mobile service that publishes a repair price at all is GoMobile Tires, at $175 (read 2026-09-20).

Questions people ask

  • My car is in a permit zone. Is that a problem? No, if the space is legal for the car and there is room around it. Ward 43 has more active permit block faces than any other ward, so describe the spot at booking.
  • Can you fit tires in the alley behind my building? Often yes, where it is passable, level and not blocked by the van. Surface varies block to block.
  • The car has barely moved since March. Check pressures first. The placard inside the driver's door frame gives the right figure: see the tire pressure placard.
  • I hit something on Fullerton and there is a bulge. Replacement. Illinois law treats a bulge, knot or separation as an unsafe tire outright.
  • Do you charge extra to come out? No. The visit sits inside the price you see online: what mobile tire replacement costs.
  • Can you hold my other set between seasons? That is tire storage, a separate service from a fitting visit.
