Mobile tire repair in Savannah

You book, the price is on screen in minutes, and we come to where the car is parked. No callback, no estimate visit, and no separate call-out fee added to the number you saw. The wheel comes off the car, the tire comes off the rim, and we tell you what is actually wrong before anything is charged for fixing it.

One thing this is not: emergency roadside. We come to a fixed address where the car is already parked, at home or at work. A car stopped in a live lane needs a tow first.

How thin the mobile field actually is here

Tire Rack publishes a recommended-installer directory that anyone can open with a ZIP code. We put in 31401, the Historic District, on 2026-09-20 and opened all seventeen results.

Exactly one of the seventeen is a mobile installer. That is GoMobile Tires, which Tire Rack lists at 20 Mincey Blvd, Garden City. Its own site heads the same franchise "Mobile Tire Service in Port Wentworth, GA". Garden City and Port Wentworth are both Chatham County municipalities and neither is the City of Savannah, which is worth knowing before you read anybody's coverage map.

The other sixteen are fixed shops. Nine have a Savannah mailing address, two of those are functionally Garden City, two are in Bluffton SC, two in Pooler, one in Rincon and one in Richmond Hill.

The national mobile brands mostly are not here either, and each one is absent for a different reason:

• Tire Rack's own vans do not reach Savannah. "Tire Rack Mobile Installation" is not among the seventeen entries returned for 31401. The control is direct: the same page, in the same session, loaded for its default Los Angeles-area ZIP returns "Tire Rack Mobile Installation®, 9840 Greenleaf Avenue, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670" as entry number one. Same page, different ZIP, entry gone. Their national page meanwhile advertises "On-site tire installation prices start at just $40 a tire" — a price that is not purchasable in this metro at all.
• Discount Tire's mobile programme does not cover Georgia. It publishes the participating stores by state, and on 2026-09-20 the list ran to eight states and 84 stores: Arizona 19, Florida 4, Illinois 14, Minnesota 3, Missouri 2, North Carolina 1, South Carolina 2, Texas 39. Georgia is not one of the eight. The nearest participating stores are the two in South Carolina, both in the Charlotte suburbs.
• Zohr does not operate in Georgia. Its locations page lists three metros — Kansas City, Greater Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth — across Kansas, Missouri and Texas, and nothing else.

The thing nobody in this city publishes

We went looking specifically for a published mobile flat-repair price in the Savannah metro, and found none.

GoMobile Tires lists flat tire repair as a service and prices it nowhere. Its own words, read 2026-09-20: "A flat doesn't mean a tow. We assess on-location — plug, patch, or replace." Tee's Mobile Tire Service describes the job in useful detail — "we pull the tire, find the puncture, and repair it properly wherever you are parked" — and publishes no figure for it. Of every Savannah-area mobile operator whose website we could open, not one published a price for anything.

Discount Tire answers the question in the other direction, and it deserves a straight answer from us rather than silence. On the same page where it excludes Georgia from mobile installation, it states: "Does America's Tire offer mobile tire repair near me? We don't offer mobile tire repair at this time" — and separately, "we offer free flat tire repairs at every single one of our 1,200-plus stores!" There are two Discount Tire stores in this metro, on Abercorn Street in 31419 and Grand Central Boulevard in Pooler.

So if the only thing that matters to you is the money, drive it to Discount Tire and the repair is free. We are not going to pretend otherwise; free flat tire repair is a real offer and it is in this metro. What you are buying from us instead is that the car never moves and you never make a second trip to collect it. That is the whole trade, stated plainly, and it is the same trade mobile against a tire shop sets out everywhere.

Who that trade is worth it for

The American Community Survey 2020-2024 five-year estimates put the City of Savannah at 58,192 occupied housing units, of which 43.2 percent keep exactly one vehicle and 10.5 percent keep none. In ZCTA 31415 — West Savannah, Cloverdale and Woodville — 23.2 percent of households have no vehicle at all, the highest of the fourteen ZIP Code Tabulation Areas we pulled for this metro, against 10.5 percent citywide.

A one-car household cannot hand the car over for half a day. Dropping it somewhere means arranging a second trip to collect it, and 69.7 percent of Savannah commuters drive alone. The car is the plan. That is the entire reason the van comes to the car.

What we do when we get there

1. Check the pressure in all four tires against the door placard, not the number moulded into the sidewall. What the tire pressure placard means explains the difference.
2. Take the affected wheel off the car.
3. Demount the tire and inspect the inner liner. This is the step that tells the truth. A puncture that looks like a clean nail hole from outside can have chewed the liner into something no patch will seal.
4. Repair it, or tell you it cannot be repaired.
5. Remount, rebalance that wheel, reset the TPMS where the vehicle supports it at the roadside, and set the pressure to the placard.

A repair is only legitimate if the damage is in the tread area, no wider than a quarter of an inch, and the tire came off the wheel for both a plug and a patch. Those are the US Tire Manufacturers Association rules. Plug against patch is the longer version, and nail in a tire: can it be repaired is the quick test.

The space we need, and why it is worth checking first

Tire Rack publishes the physical requirements every mobile fitter works to, and they are a fair description of ours. Verbatim, read 2026-09-20: "We require a flat, paved surface with 6 feet of clearance around your vehicle along with enough space for our installation van. A minimum of 10 feet of vertical clearance is also required." And: "Safe Location — We need a safe place to install your tires. We cannot install in open traffic, but we can meet you at your residence or a local parking lot."

Two more from the same page that cost people visits: "All lugs and studs need to be present and in serviceable condition", and "Rusted or swollen lug nuts that cannot be removed will prevent installation."

Most of this metro clears those tests easily. The exception is the historic core, where the kerb is metered and the housing has no driveway to speak of — tire service in the Savannah Historic District is the page on what actually works there. A mobile puncture repair is $145 for the first tire and $50 for each additional tire in the same visit. That is the price, not an estimate and not a starting figure. It covers getting to you, the wheel off, the tire demounted and inspected from the inside, a plug and patch fitted the way the tire industry requires, remounting, rebalancing, a TPMS reset where the vehicle supports it, and the wheel back on. There is no separate call-out fee. If the damage turns out not to be repairable, we tell you on the spot: the inspection is charged and the repair is not.

That number is worth comparing to the one published mobile rate card in this metro. GoMobile's card on Tire Rack carries a line reading "Mobile Service Fee (per visit) $100.00" — the only per-visit fee anywhere in the seventeen-installer 31401 directory, and higher than every mobile call-out fee recorded in our Dallas research, where Zohr charges $69, Supreme $75 and Via $50. • Do I pay if the tire cannot be repaired? You pay for the inspection, because finding out means coming to the car, removing the wheel and taking the tire off the rim. You do not pay for a repair that was not done. You then decide whether to replace.
• What space do you need? Level, paved, legal ground with about six feet of clearance around the car and room for the van, and no work in open traffic. A driveway, a parking lot or a quiet kerb at a fixed address all normally qualify.
