What tire repair costs in Savannah

Savannah is a city where almost nobody publishes a price, and where the one operator who does publishes it somewhere else. This page is what we could actually read on public pages on 2026-09-20, with the arithmetic shown, including the comparison we lose.

Two things to get out of the way first, because they change how you read everything below.

Nobody in this metro publishes a mobile puncture repair price. We looked specifically. GoMobile Tires lists flat tire repair and gives no figure — "A flat doesn't mean a tow. We assess on-location — plug, patch, or replace." Tee's Mobile Tire Service describes the job carefully and prices nothing. Of every Savannah-area mobile operator whose site we could open, not one published a price for anything.

Discount Tire will repair a flat for free, and it has two stores here. Its own page: "we offer free flat tire repairs at every single one of our 1,200-plus stores!" The stores are on Abercorn Street in 31419 and Grand Central Boulevard in Pooler. The same page says "We don't offer mobile tire repair at this time." If price is the only thing you are optimising, that is the answer, and free flat tire repair is the page about it.

Everything below is about what it costs when you want the car to stay where it is.

The one mobile rate card in this metro

Tire Rack's recommended-installer directory returns seventeen installers for ZIP 31401. Exactly one of the seventeen is a mobile installer: GoMobile Tires, which Tire Rack lists at 20 Mincey Blvd, Garden City, and whose own site heads the same franchise "Mobile Tire Service in Port Wentworth, GA". Garden City and Port Wentworth are both Chatham County municipalities and neither is the City of Savannah. That matters when you are reading a coverage claim.

Its card, verbatim from the directory, read 2026-09-20:

No percentage shop fee. Tire Rack's Price Pledge page states that every installer in the programme "must commit to Tire Rack's Price Pledge. This agreement means you can be sure the exact installation costs you see for each installer are what you'll pay."

The $100 is the headline. It is the only per-visit fee anywhere in that seventeen-installer directory. It is also higher than every mobile call-out fee we recorded in our Dallas research, where Zohr publishes $69, Supreme $75 and Via $50. We are comparing published figures to published figures and saying nothing about why they differ.

The $8.00 disposal fee is the highest of the seventeen installers in that directory as well. The range runs from free at Pep Boys through $3.00, $4.00 at both Discount Tire stores, $4.50, $5.00 at the three Firestone locations, $5.50, $5.99, $7.00 and $7.50 to that $8.00.

The whole job, priced both ways

Tire Rack publishes its own worked total on the GoMobile page, for four Michelin CrossClimate2 225/65R17 on a 2020 Toyota RAV4 AWD LE. These are its lines, not ours:

Four lines that add to exactly $292.00. Nothing derived.

Now the same four-tire job at the cheapest fixed shop in that directory. Three Firestone locations tie for the lowest mount-and-balance rate of the seventeen at $23.00 a tire, and the nearest of them to the Historic District is 2901 Skidaway Rd, which the directory puts at 8 miles. From its published card:

The mobile premium is $146.80 — $292.00 minus $145.20, derived from those two totals. Of that, $100.00 is the stated per-visit mobile service fee and the remaining $46.80 is the difference in the per-tire rate, the TPMS line, the disposal line and the shop fee.

One caveat we are not going to bury. Firestone's card says only "Shop Fee (% of Install Cost) 10%" and does not define whether disposal counts as install cost. If it does not, the Firestone total is $143.20 — ($92.00 + $20.00) x 1.10 = $123.20, plus $20.00 disposal — and the premium is $148.80. So the honest statement is a range: mobile fitting in this metro costs roughly twice what the cheapest fixed shop charges for the identical job, and the gap is about $147 to $149 on four tires.

That is the trade-off, stated straight. What the extra buys is that the car does not move and nobody makes a second trip. If that is not worth $147 to you, the fixed shop is the better buy and we would rather you knew.

Two notes on what that comparison is and is not. It prices fitting tires the customer already has, which is the job Tire Rack's directory is built around — it is not what we sell, because we supply the tires we fit and do not mount tires bought elsewhere. And it is a comparison of two published local rate cards, not a quote. Mobile against a tire shop is the general version of the same argument.

The number on GoMobile's own site, and why we will not combine it

GoMobile's own Savannah pages carry a different figure: "Install from $150", and against new tire installation, "From $150 installed."

That is a from-price of unstated scope on the operator's own site, and the itemised card above is published by Tire Rack. They are two different publications describing the same business, and adding a from-price to a rate card produces a total that is half sourced and half invented. So we report both and stop there.

The other national mobile brands, and why none of their prices is a Savannah price

• Tire Rack's own vans do not serve this ZIP. "Tire Rack Mobile Installation" is absent from the seventeen entries returned for 31401, while appearing as entry number one on the same page for its default Los Angeles-area ZIP in the same session. Its national page advertises "On-site tire installation prices start at just $40 a tire". That $40 is not purchasable here.
• Discount Tire's mobile programme excludes Georgia. Eight states and 84 stores, counted from its published list on 2026-09-20: Arizona 19, Florida 4, Illinois 14, Minnesota 3, Missouri 2, North Carolina 1, South Carolina 2, Texas 39. Its published "AS LOW AS $50 Extra" is therefore not a Savannah price, and the page is explicit that the fee stacks on top of the normal installation charge anyway.
• Zohr does not operate in Georgia at all. Three metros — Kansas City, Greater Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth. Its fully itemised mobile pricing is the cleanest in the country and none of it applies here.

Two Georgia specifics that change the invoice

The $1 state tire fee is not on your bill any more. Georgia EPD publishes it: "In 2023, the Georgia General Assembly amended the state law, O.C.G.A. Sec. 12-8-40.1(h), that describes how tire fees are collected in Georgia. On July 1, 2023, the responsibility for collecting and remitting the $1 fee on new tires sold shifted from the retailers to distributors." So a line on a Savannah invoice called "disposal" or "recycling" — $4.00, $5.00, $8.00, whatever it reads — is a charge the business has set, not a pass-through of the state fee. Anyone who tells you the $8 is "the Georgia tire fee" is wrong by a factor of eight.

Tax is county-specific here and we are not going to quote you an out-the-door figure. The Georgia Department of Revenue rate chart in force on 2026-09-20 puts Chatham County at 7 percent, with the state share at 4 percent. The neighbours are not the same: Effingham 8 percent, and Bryan, Liberty and Bulloch 9 percent each. So the identical set of tires is taxed at 7 percent in Savannah, Pooler, Garden City, Thunderbolt and Tybee Island, 8 percent in Rincon, and 9 percent in Richmond Hill.

What we could not establish is whether separately stated repair labour is taxable in Georgia. The regulation that would settle it is Rule 560-12-2-.88, and the state rules server refused every access method we tried on 2026-09-20. Tire Rack's own quote page states "Sales tax not included". Until that rule has actually been read, an out-the-door total would be one sourced part plus one guess, so nobody should publish one — including us.

Our price: $145, and $50 for each extra tire

A mobile puncture repair is $145 for the first tire and $50 for each additional tire in the same visit. That is the price, not an estimate and not a starting figure. It covers getting to you, the wheel off, the tire demounted and inspected from the inside, a plug and patch fitted the way the tire industry requires, remounting, rebalancing, a TPMS reset where the vehicle supports it, and the wheel back on. There is no separate call-out fee — which is the line to hold against the $100 per-visit fee on the only published mobile card in this metro. If the damage turns out not to be repairable, we tell you on the spot: the inspection is charged and the repair is not.

• What is the cheapest way to fix a flat in Savannah? Free, at either Discount Tire store, if you can take the car there and come back for it. Its own page publishes free flat repair at all 1,200-plus stores and also says it offers no mobile tire repair.
• What does the only mobile operator here charge? For repair, nothing published. For fitting, Tire Rack's card gives $30.00 a tire in every sidewall band plus a $100.00 mobile service fee per visit and $8.00 a tire disposal, and displays $292.00 as the total for fitting four 225/65R17.
• Is mobile fitting really twice the price here? On the two published cards, close to it: $292.00 mobile against $145.20 at the cheapest fixed shop for the identical four-tire job, a gap of $146.80. A shop-fee ambiguity makes the fixed total $143.20 and the gap $148.80. Those are the two ends and both are shown with their inputs.
• Why is the $100 fee so high? We do not know and we are not going to speculate. What we can say is that it is the only per-visit fee in that seventeen-installer directory, and higher than the $69, $75 and $50 mobile call-out fees we recorded in Dallas.
• Is the disposal fee the Georgia tire fee? No. Since 1 July 2023 the $1 state fee on new tires has been collected from distributors rather than retailers, per Georgia EPD. A disposal line on your invoice is the business's own charge.
• What is the sales tax on this? Chatham County is 7 percent on the Department of Revenue chart in force on 2026-09-20; Effingham is 8 and Bryan, Liberty and Bulloch are 9. We are not publishing an out-the-door total, because whether separately stated repair labour is taxable in Georgia turns on a rule we could not read.
• Do you charge a call-out fee? No. The visit is inside the price. If we arrive and the space is not safe to work in, that visit is not charged.
