Colorado's Traction Law applies on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison from 1 September to 31 May under C.R.S. 42-4-106, and CDOT asks for at least 3/16 of an inch of tread on winter rated, all-weather rated or M+S marked tires for 4WD and AWD vehicles. 3/16 of an inch is 6/32, three times the 2/32 that C.R.S. 42-4-228 treats as the floor for driving at all.
