What tire repair and tire fitting cost in Boise

Almost nobody in this metro publishes a tire price. Of the fifteen Tire Rack recommended installers listed for Boise ZIP 83704, one is mobile; exactly one business in the whole metro publishes a figure for fixing a flat. What this market does contain is a genuine published-price oddity, and it is the first thing on this page.

The oddity first: one company, two real prices, same physical job

Roadz Mobile Tire — a Meridian business that serves Boise, and the only mobile installer in the Tire Rack directory for Boise ZIP 83704 — publishes two different totals to fit four tires, on the same day, depending on where the tires came from.

Both read on 2026-09-20: the left column from the out-the-door screen on roadzmobile.com at quantity four, the right from Roadz's published rate card and worked example on its Tire Rack installer page, quoted there for four Michelin CrossClimate2 225/65R17 on a 2020 Toyota RAV4 AWD LE.

Every line is identical except the door fee. So in Boise, bringing your own tires costs exactly $25.00 more, and the entire difference is the call-out (DERIVED: $201.00 minus $176.00; $75.00 against $50.00 on the same line).

These are two prices for two different jobs and we are not going to blend them, average them or subtract one from the other to make a point. If you see a Boise figure quoted, the first question is which of these two jobs it covers.

The call-out is a tick box

On the same out-the-door screen, the call-out is filed under OPTIONAL SERVICES, alongside the install and the disposal. All three are ticked by default.

Unticking "Mobile Service Fee" on a one-tire job moved the screen from "Sub-total $177.50 / Total Price: $183.26" to "Sub-total $127.50 / Total Price: $133.26" — a $50.00 drop, exactly the fee. Nothing was submitted; the tick box is client-side and the page was left as we found it.

A company whose whole product is coming to you therefore publishes a headline total that a customer of that service cannot actually obtain. We are not going to characterise why. We are telling you what the screen did.

The published footnotes on that screen, verbatim: "† Prices are subject to change at any time"; "Tire size and fitment will be verified at the time of installation"; "Additional charges may apply for vehicles with specialty or custom wheel packages."

The whole itemised card, both versions

On roadzmobile.com at quantity four, on an Advanta ER-800 225/65R17 102H SL at $96.00 a tire: "Install + Balance (Standard) $100.00", "Mobile Service Fee $50.00", "Tire disposal $26.00", "35″ tire $32.00", "37″ tire $50.00"; sub-total $560.00, taxes $23.04, total $583.04. At quantity one the same lines read $25.00, $50.00, $6.50, $8.00, $12.50; sub-total $177.50, taxes $5.76, total $183.26.

So fitting is $25.00 a tire, disposal is $6.50 a tire, and the call-out is $50.00 flat and does not move with quantity.

On the Tire Rack card: "Minimum Charge (per visit) $75.00; Mobile Service Fee (per visit) $75.00. Mounting & Balancing (per tire) by Sidewall Aspect Ratio — 0-35 Series $25.00; 40-45 Series $25.00; 50-55 Series $25.00; 60+ Series $25.00. Additional Services (per tire) — Rubber Valve Stems $2.50; Disposal Fee $6.50; Run-Flat Tire Services $5.00; TPMS Rebuild Kit Free; Package Installation $18.75; Large Tire Upcharge Fee N/A."

Note the $2.50 valve stem. It exists on the Tire Rack card, it does not appear on the company's own cart at any quantity, and it is not inside the $201.00 quote either. There is no TPMS line on the out-the-door screen at all, although TPMS installation is sold as a service. That total is out-the-door only if your stems and sensors are reused untouched.

What a storefront charges for the identical job

The cleanest like-for-like in this metro, because the address really is in Boise. The Tire Choice #1688, 1404 S Orchard St, Boise 83705, publishes on its own Tire Rack page: mounting and balancing $26.99 a tire at every aspect band, rubber valve stems free, disposal free, run-flat service $5.00, TPMS rebuild kit free, package installation $5.00, metal valve stems $4.99, and a shop fee of 9.99 percent of the install cost. Its worked quote for the same four Michelin CrossClimate2 on the same RAV4: "$107.96" plus "Shop Fee (% of Install Cost) $10.78" for an "Installation Total for 4 Items $118.74".

The mobile premium in Boise, for customer-supplied tires, is $82.26 (DERIVED: $201.00 minus $118.74, both read from tirerack.com on 2026-09-20 for the identical four-tire job in the same metro).

That is the number. It is not small, and we are publishing it because the comparison is real and dated on both sides.

Every published fitting price in the Boise directory

Tire Rack lists fifteen recommended installers for Boise ZIP 83704. Each figure is for the same job — four tires the customer supplied through Tire Rack, fitted — and Tire Rack states "Sales tax not included" against every one. Read 2026-09-20.

Two things about that table. Of the fifteen, exactly one is a mobile installer — that is a ranking over those fifteen and nothing wider. And the geography matters: seven carry Boise addresses, two are in 83714 which Tire Rack labels Garden City and Boise respectively, three are in Meridian, two in Nampa and one in Star. Of the four Discount Tire stores at the directory's lowest figure, only the Overland Road one carries a Boise address.

Published repair prices: there is one

Not one business in this metro publishes a plug-and-patch rate. Roadz lists "Flat tire repair services" with no figure. T&T Mobile Tires has an entire page about patches and plugs — "We utilize industry-standard tire patches and plugs to restore your tire's structural integrity" — and publishes no figure on any of the four pages we read.

The single published number for a flat anywhere in the metro is 66 Mobile Auto Repair, 1116 S Vista Ave 252, Boise 83705, whose page reads, verbatim and including the full stop: "Mobile Flat Tire Assist Starts @ $185."

Read it carefully before you use it. It is a starts-at figure. Its own subtitle defines the scope as "Tire Repair | Install Spare | Replace Tire", so it is an assist bundling three different jobs, one of which is fitting your spare. It is not a plug-and-patch rate. And at $185 to start it is higher than Roadz's entire four-tire fitting charge of $176.

We are not going to subtract that from our own $145 and call the difference a saving, because the two figures do not describe the same work.

What Idaho adds to the bill, and what it does not

Sales tax is 6 percent and it lands on the tires, not the work. The Idaho State Tax Commission's basics guide states: "Idaho's sales tax rate is 6%." On the live Boise price screen the same day, the tire sub-total at quantity four was $384.00 and the tax line $23.04; $23.04 / $384.00 = 6.00 percent (DERIVED). At quantity one, $5.76 / $96.00 = 6.00 percent (DERIVED). Nothing was charged on the $176.00 of fitting, call-out and disposal. The widget behind that screen states the rule in its own configuration for the Boise location: 'tax_rates': {'labor': 0, 'material': 6}.

The effective rate observed for a Boise job was exactly 6.00 percent at both quantities, with no local increment on that screen. We are reporting the rate we watched one seller charge on one dated screen. We are not telling you Boise has no local-option taxing power, because that is a claim about every applicable ordinance and we have not read them.

There is no Idaho state waste-tire fee. Nothing in Title 49 creates a tire disposal or recycling charge, and no statutory item appeared on that screen. Where you see disposal on a Boise invoice — $6.50 a tire in the case above, free on The Tire Choice card — it is a company price. Do not let anybody attribute it to Idaho law.

Our prices

A mobile puncture repair is $145 for the first tire and $50 for each additional tire in the same visit. There is no separate call-out fee, at any quantity, ever — which is the direct contrast with a $50.00 door fee that is a tick box on one screen and $75.00 on another for the same business.

If the tire turns out not to be repairable, the inspection is charged and the repair is not, because establishing repairability means travelling to the car, taking the wheel off and taking the tire off the rim. We tell you before you decide anything about replacing it. If the space is not safe to work in when we arrive, nothing is charged.

For a replacement we supply the tires and fit them at the same visit, matched to the door placard, one to four tires, wheels up to 22 inches, TPMS reset included where the vehicle supports it at the roadside. We do not mount tires bought elsewhere — that was withdrawn on 2026-09-20 — and we do not sell used tires.

A seasonal changeover is $350 for a set already on its own wheels and $390 for loose tires that have to be mounted on the same wheels and balanced. We do not store tires.

One honest note on comparison. Neither of the two Roadz totals above is a like-for-like against us: the $201.00 job is customer-supplied tires, which we no longer do at all, and the $176.00 job is fitting on top of that seller's own tires, which is a different tire at a different price. We have published both in full so you can put whichever one matches your job next to ours, and we are not going to do a subtraction the evidence does not support.

• Is the mobile fee really optional? On that seller's screen it is a tick box under OPTIONAL SERVICES. Unticking it took a one-tire job from $183.26 to $133.26. Whether a mobile company will actually come without it is not something a tick box can tell you.
• What tax will I pay? Idaho's rate is 6 percent, and on the Boise screen we read it applied to the tires and not to the fitting, call-out or disposal: $23.04 on a $384.00 tire sub-total, and $5.76 on $96.00, both exactly 6.00 percent.
• Is there a state tire disposal fee in Idaho? No. Nothing in Title 49 creates one. A disposal line on your invoice is the company's own price.
• Do you fit tires I bought elsewhere? No. That was withdrawn on 2026-09-20. We supply the tires we fit, and we do not sell used tires.
