Start with the tire

What do you need?

How many tires?

No account needed.

We come to the address you give us, take the wheel off, get the tire off the rim, inspect it from the inside, and repair it if the damage is repairable. Your price is on screen in minutes before anyone is dispatched. No callback, no estimate visit, and no separate call-out charge, because the trip sits inside the number you see.

Two limits before anything else. We supply the tires we fit, so we do not mount tires bought somewhere else. And this is a booked visit to a parked car, not roadside rescue. A car stopped in a live lane needs a tow first.

In Colorado, the only person checking your tires is you

There is no Colorado statute that puts a private passenger car through a periodic safety inspection. What exists instead is C.R.S. 42-4-203, headed "Unsafe vehicles - spot inspections", under which uniformed police officers "at any time upon reasonable cause, may require the driver of a vehicle to stop and submit such vehicle and its equipment to an inspection". Reasonable cause, not a calendar.

The recurring check most Denver drivers do take is the emissions test, and it is not a substitute. The Colorado DMV requires it to register a vehicle in Denver and eight other listed counties or parts of counties, every other year for model year 1982 and newer. Neither the DMV page nor the CDPHE page describing the inspection lists tires, tread or brakes among what is examined.

So nobody measures your tread on a schedule here. It gets measured when you look, or when we do.

What makes a tire repairable

These rules are not ours. They come from the US Tire Manufacturers Association, and any shop worth paying works to them.

  • The damage has to be in the tread area, the part that meets the road. Nothing in the sidewall or the shoulder is repairable, by us or by anybody.
  • The hole has to be no larger than a quarter of an inch.
  • The tire has to come off the wheel, so the inner liner can be inspected. A casing can look untouched from outside and be finished inside.
  • The repair is a plug and a patch together. A plug pushed in from the outside with the tire still on the car is not a repair. It is a way of selling you the same tire twice.

Repair or replace a tire covers where the line usually falls.

Colorado's numbers, and the one it does not set

With the tire off the wheel we measure the tread, because C.R.S. 42-4-228(5)(c)(III) deems a tire unsafe below two thirty-seconds of an inch, and 42-4-228(5)(a) makes it an offence to drive on a highway without tires in safe operating condition.

Worth knowing what Colorado does not do. Some states set a second, higher floor on selling or mounting a worn tire. Colorado does not. The duty in 42-4-228(7) attaches to selling the vehicle: no person may sell a motor vehicle for highway use unless its tires comply, and 42-4-228(8)(b) makes that a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense. There is no equivalent bar on a loose tire, which is one reason we deal only in new tires we supply.

There is a second tread number in Colorado law, and it is three times the first. C.R.S. 42-4-106 sets the Traction Law standard at three sixteenths of an inch, which is six thirty-seconds, on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison from 1 September to 31 May. Traction Law tires covers that in full, and it matters more than the 2/32 floor for anyone who drives west.

Where a van can actually work here

Denver makes this easy in a way few big cities do. Counted from the city's own GIS layer on 2026-09-20, residential permit parking covers 22 named areas across 971 street segments, the largest being the Stadium Area at 236. Outside those, kerb parking on a Denver residential street is free and unrestricted. Citywide, 40.5% of housing units are single family detached, most of them on an alley grid with a garage or a pad behind.

What we need is legal, level, paved ground with room to work around one corner of the car. A driveway or an alley apron is ideal. A below-grade building garage downtown is the hard case, and it is better to tell us in advance than to find out when the van arrives. Flat tire in the driveway covers the home case and our Denver service area covers where we go.

We do not do alignment, rotation on its own, balancing on its own or brakes. If the inspection says the tire is finished rather than fixable, that becomes a mobile replacement, and we tell you at the car.

Our price: $145

A mobile puncture repair on one tire is $145. That is a price, not a range and not a starting point. It buys the trip out, the wheel off, the tire off the rim, an inspection of the inner liner, a plug and patch fitted to the tire industry standard, remounting, rebalancing, a TPMS reset where supported, and the pressure set to the door placard. Nothing is added afterwards for the call-out.

If the tire is beyond repair, you pay for the inspection and not for a repair that did not happen. Establishing which case you are in means travelling out, pulling the wheel and breaking the tire off the rim, and that work is the same either way.

Questions people ask

  • Does Colorado inspect my tires? Not on a schedule. C.R.S. 42-4-203 allows a police officer to require a spot inspection on reasonable cause, and that is the only inspection power over an ordinary private car. The emissions test you take to register in Denver does not list tires among what it examines.
  • Is a plug on its own a real repair? No. The US Tire Manufacturers Association standard requires the tire off the wheel for an internal inspection, and both a plug and a patch. Five minutes at the kerb with the tire still mounted is not it.
  • Do you fit tires I bought elsewhere? No. We supply the tires we fit, which is what lets us put a firm number on screen instead of calling you back.
  • Is this roadside assistance? No. We book a visit to a fixed address where the car is already parked. A stranded car needs a tow first, then us.
  • Can you work at the kerb outside my house? Usually. Denver has only 22 residential permit areas covering 971 street segments, so most Denver kerb space is unrestricted. Tell us what the space looks like when you book.
