Mobile tire service in Uptown, Dallas

ZIP 75204 — State-Thomas, McKinney Avenue and the new-build rental belt around them — filed 1,167 "Pot Hole" requests to Dallas 311 between 2021 and 2025. That is rank 10 of the 68 distinct ZIP strings in the address field of the city's archive over those five years, and it puts Uptown in the city's top ten by complaint count alongside Pleasant Grove, Lower Greenville and Lakewood.

Two kinds of address in one ZIP

67.4% of Uptown units are in buildings of twenty or more, but 11.2% are one-unit attached — the townhouse and rowhouse stock behind the avenue — and a further 11.7% are in buildings of five to nineteen units. 5.5% are one-unit detached, against 41.3% citywide.

What you pay tax on, and what you do not

Texas does not tax the labour in a tire job. The Comptroller's publication on motor vehicle repairs states it directly: "There is no sales tax on the labor to repair to a motor vehicle. For example, the labor to repair or replace a tire, battery, muffler or shock absorber is not subject to sales tax." Parts are taxable. The state rate is 6.25% and local jurisdictions may add up to 2%, for a maximum combined 8.25%.

That is visible in what competitors charge here. Zohr's Dallas cart, priced live on 2026-09-20, put four tires at $125 each and charged sales taxes of $41.25 — 8.25% of the $500 of tires and nothing on the $298 of fitting, recycling and mobile service fee.

Spring damage, then summer standing

The city's pothole curve is a spring curve. Summed over 2021 to 2025, complaints peak in May at 4,063 and bottom out in October at 2,331, with March through June carrying 41.5% of the year's 36,265 requests. What we do not do

We supply the tires we fit, so a set bought elsewhere is out. No alignment, no rotation on its own, no balancing on its own, no brakes, no emergency roadside. Mobile puncture repair is in scope, subject to inspecting the tire from the inside once it is off the rim.

A mobile puncture repair on one tire is $145. That is the price, not an estimate and not a starting figure. It covers getting to you, the wheel off, the tire demounted and inspected from the inside, a plug and patch fitted the way the tire industry requires, remounting, rebalancing, a TPMS reset where the vehicle supports it, and the wheel back on. If the damage is not repairable, we say so on the spot and you are not charged for the repair.

Questions people ask

• Is there a mobile service fee on top? Not with us. For comparison, Zohr's Dallas cart carries a $69.00 "Mobile Service Fee" line (read 2026-09-20), and that is a normal way to price this work.
• My townhouse has a garage behind it. Usually ideal, if the apron is level and paved with room to work beside the car.
• My building's garage is stacked. Then bring the car to a legal kerb space for the slot. Tell us at booking so we plan for it.
• One tire or two? It depends on the damage and the wear on the other tire of that axle: repair or replace.
• There is a screw in the tread. Do not pull it out before we get there: nail in your tire in Dallas.
